— YOUR COMMUNITY

Grounded Strength Academy was never just a gym. From the moment the first mat hit the floor, it was built by hands that showed up, voices that encouraged, and hearts that believed in something bigger than themselves. This is your community. Pull up a chair. Stay a while.

RIO RANCHO, NM · PROVERBS 27:17 · EST. 2026
— THE BUILD

There is something sacred about a group of people who show up before the doors open — before the sign is hung, before a single class is scheduled — and simply get to work.

That is how Grounded Strength Academy was built.

It wasn't built by a corporation or a franchise. It was built by this community. People who sanded floors and hung mats. People who hauled equipment and stayed late. People who believed in what Rudy and the professors were building here long before the first student ever walked through the door.

This is what it looks like when a community invests in itself. When neighbors become teammates. When strangers become family.

We do not take that lightly. Every class that happens here — every takedown drilled, every technique sharpened, every child who leaves more confident than when they arrived — exists because of the people who showed up when it mattered most.

That spirit does not stop at these walls. It goes with you.

We believe every person reading this has been placed in a community that needs them. A neighborhood, a school, a church, a family — somewhere that is better because you are in it. You do not have to build a gym. You just have to show up.

“Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.”

— COME SEE IT

You don't join a gym here.You join a people.

Walk through the doors, shake a few hands, and take a class on us. The mats are open — and there's a place on them for you.

Remembering Vin

Some people leave a mark on a community that cannot be measured in words.

Vin was one of those people.

He was part of this family — a presence on the mats and in the lives of those who trained alongside him, laughed with him, and were made better for knowing him. His warmth, his spirit, and the way he poured himself into the people around him reflected something we strive to carry forward every single day at Grounded Strength Academy.

We are grateful. Grateful for the time we had. Grateful for what he meant to this community. Grateful that the mark he left does not fade.

We honor him not only in memory, but in the way we show up for one another — with humility, with heart, and with the same generosity of spirit he embodied.

Until we meet again.

— GO AND DO LIKEWISE

What happened here — neighbors showing up, rolling up their sleeves, building something together — is not unique to us. It is a calling.

Wherever you are planted, you have been given gifts, time, and hands that can serve. A child in your neighborhood who needs a mentor. An elderly neighbor who needs a meal. A local organization that needs one more volunteer. A friend who just needs someone to show up.

You do not need a special title or a perfect plan. You just need to go.

We are proud of this community and humbled by it. But our prayer is that what happens inside these walls spills out into the streets, schools, and homes of Rio Rancho and beyond.

“For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

— EPHESIANS 2:10 —

Show up for your community the way this community showed up for us. That is how something good becomes something lasting.
